The ORBO Scholars Fellowship Program combines educational support, personal and professional development, experiential learning, leadership development, and community engagement to help promising young people build the capabilities and relationships needed for long-term success.
ORBO is not limited to students attending traditional four-year universities. Potential qualifying pathways may include four-year colleges and universities, community colleges and associate-degree programs, recognized trade and technical schools, career-technical and vocational programs, qualifying certificate or diploma programs, transfer students, and students entering ORBO after beginning their postsecondary education or training.
ORBO believes a traditional four-year degree is not the only pathway to a successful and meaningful future.

Our focus is on developing scholarship resources, practical educational programming, nonprofit and university partnerships, community-impact opportunities, and the infrastructure needed to grow each part of the ORBO pathway responsibly and sustainably.
fellowship awards
Current Fellowship design may provide educational awards of up to $7,500 per academic year. Awards may potentially be renewable, subject to continued eligibility, good standing, annual review, available Foundation funding, and Foundation approval.
ORBO ACADEMY
ORBO Academy helps Fellows develop the practical skills, confidence, and professional capabilities needed to succeed in school, work, leadership, and life. Through workshops, mentorship, training, and applied learning experiences, Fellows may build strengths in communication, workplace readiness, leadership, teamwork, financial literacy, project management, and other areas that support long-term personal and professional growth.
ORBO GIVING IN ACTION
ORBO Giving connects Fellows with meaningful opportunities to serve communities, support nonprofit organizations, and contribute to causes that matter. Experiences may include mentoring, youth and educational initiatives, community projects, nonprofit support, events, outreach, fundraising assistance, research, and other mission-aligned activities that allow Fellows to apply their skills while creating measurable community impact.
FEDERAL WORK-STUDY & PAID OPPORTUNITIES
Federal Work-Study may provide eligible students with opportunities to earn wages through approved employment while gaining practical experience and contributing to nonprofit or community-based organizations. Depending on the participating educational institution, ORBO Fellows may be able to pursue eligible paid opportunities through approved employers or nonprofit partners.
how it may work
A Fellow who is eligible for Federal Work-Study may work with their college or university and an approved employer or nonprofit partner to determine whether a particular position qualifies under the institution’s Federal Work-Study program. The educational institution determines student eligibility, award amounts, placement requirements, approval procedures, and administration of the program.
ORBO does not award, administer, or guarantee Federal Work-Study funding. Eligibility and participation are determined by the student’s educational institution and applicable Federal Work-Study requirements. Availability may vary by institution, student, employer, and position.
